What is A/SIDE?
A/SIDE is a private photo, video, and text sharing app for iPhone and Android. You get in by invitation, the feed is strictly chronological, there are no ads, no algorithm, and no public or searchable profiles.
How do I get in?
A friend inside can send you an invite code that connects the two of you the moment you sign in. You can also request to follow someone who already uses A/SIDE — both sides have to confirm. There's no sign-up-from-scratch path, and nothing about you is searchable from the outside.
Is it really algorithm-free?
Yes. Your feed is strict reverse-chronological order from the people you follow. No ranking, no suggested-for-you, no engagement-based reordering, no trending tab, no explore tab.
Do you train AI on my photos?
No. We don't train models on your content and we don't run any AI features over it server-side. The only AI in the app is Apple's on-device speech recognition for voice dictation, and the audio never leaves your phone.
Do you profile me or track my behavior?
No. No ad SDKs, no behavioral profiles tied to you, no identity attached to what you tap on. We look at anonymous aggregate usage so we know which features people actually use — that's it.
Where are my photos stored? Not AWS?
Correct — not on AWS, not on Google Cloud, not on Azure. A/SIDE runs on an independent provider and we pay for the bandwidth ourselves. Your photos aren't feeding any big-tech machine.
How much does it cost?
Free forever, with 7 days of feed and message history. A/SIDE Pro Individual is $4.99/month or $49.99/year and unlocks unlimited history for one person. A/SIDE Pro Family is $14.99/month or $149.99/year and shares unlimited history with up to 6 people via App Store Family Sharing.
How does Groups work?
Groups is a feed filter. You create a group (family, climbing crew, book club), add people, and then you can lens the feed to just posts from those people with one tap. Nobody knows they're in a group and there's no group chat.
How does voice dictation work?
Voice dictation for captions, comments, and DMs runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's on-device speech recognition (SpeechAnalyzer). Audio never leaves your device. It requires iOS 26 or later.
Can I delete everything?
Yes. You can delete any post instantly, and you can delete your account and every photo, video, message, and byte associated with it from the settings screen. Deleting means deleted — not deactivated.
